Introduction and History

The Fiber Resource Group, Inc (TFRG), founded in 1996, is a full service secondary fiber and paper brokerage company headquartered in Beverly MA . Marc Cooper is the sole owner of the company.

In 2004 Marc invested in Dirigo Paper Company, Gilman, VT.  In addition to his equity position The Fiber Resource Group played a pivotal financial and management roll in assisting with the mill start up after a two (2) year being shut down.  As a strategic partner The Fiber Resource Group developed all of the mills virgin and secondary fiber procedures and purchasing efforts, set up an efficient inventory management and computer system for monitoring daily consumption, receiving, and inventory, as well as projecting short and long term raw material needs.  In addition, The Fiber Resource Group financed all fiber inventories and assisted with sales of job lot, off quality and finished paper for the mill.

During the summer of 2005 TFRG opened a warehousing facility in Madawaska, ME to offer additional services and increase its base of operations in northern Maine and eastern Canada. The intent of  TFRG was to establish a long-term viable operation, while creating jobs in Aroostook County, ME. One year later, in the summer of 2005, The Fiber Resource Group of Maine, Inc (TFRG of ME) was established as a separate entity.

In order to help further its commitment to the local community TFRG of ME moved to its newest operation, a full service converting and warehousing facility, in Van Buren, ME. The Van Buren, state of the art warehousing facility, is rail served and strategically located on the US/Canadian border. TFRG of ME offers recycling, converting, roll cutting, warehousing, transloading and related services to paper mills and other customers in northern Maine, eastern Canada and elsewhere.

TFRG currently supplies paper to a wide range of customers throughout North America and abroad and is actively exploring strategic partners to expand and secure its core business as well as related businesses across North America. The goal of these joint endeavors is to build a network of interrelated businesses that will compliment paper markets and cycles hence diversifying the company. Other businesses will operate outside the paper industry as separate profit centers while catering to our customer’s needs.
